BlastShield^® - How BlastShield^® Works

BlastShield^® is a patented interior fixed window treatment. It looks like a conventional solar screen, yet it is woven with high tensile strength yarns and engineered to be permanently attached to a structural member above and below the frame of the window.

In a blast or catastrophic event, BlastShield^® works like a glove to capture the glass fragments and other projectiles within the window area while dissipating the blast load.

The BlastShield^® system is available in two versions: the taut system and the dynamic tension system. The taut system repels glass back in the direction of the blast. The dynamic tension system deploys added fabric when a blast occurs to retain the glass.
